During the pandemic, the mental health of children and adolescents was hit hard, which is why we started The SET (Supporting Effective Therapy) Fund in 2020. We provide children with mental health challenges in grade 4 and up access to effective therapy regardless of their family’s financial circumstances.
We partner with local schools to monitor students’ progress under the guidance of qualified therapists. The process begins with a parent or teacher speaking to the child’s school social worker or principal who will fill out the forms, contact us, and find a therapist. We approve a child for 6 sessions of therapy at a time, covering up to 80% of the therapist’s fees. After 6 sessions, as long as therapy is effective and the therapist is a good fit, we continue our assistance until the child has reached their therapy goals.
